By coupling the achievement test with the IQ test, indications of learning discrepancies or giftedness can be seen. A detailed report is included and discussed with the parent.

IQ with Achievement Testing is available for $185.

Diagnostic Reading Assessment - $85

This test will diagnose strengths and weaknesses in the 9 key areas of reading and language. Reading problems will be assessed and identified. A score report is included and explained to the parent. We recommend a consultation following this assessment so specific reading strategies can be recommended and explained.

Learning Styles

This online assessment was created by the authors of the best selling book,
Discover Your Child’s Learning Style. The report includes information on disposition, learning styles, interests, talents, career possibilities, and more. This assessment costs $25, but the authors offer our customers a $5 discount.

Learning Styles Assessment

We offer a learning style assessment that will help to assess whether your child is an auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learner. In addition, it will assess the strength of each learning modality so you will know what the child's primary learning style is, his secondary style, and the third, or least preferred style of learning. If you teach to a child's primary and secondary styles, especially when presenting new concepts, they are more likely to meet with success and enjoy the learning process. $30

Learning Style Consultation

This consultation includes in depth information about teaching strategies to use with your child's learning style and/or a review of various curricula that are compatible with the various learning styles. Finding curriculum materials to match your child's learning style or incorporating teaching strategies into your existing curriculum that lend to your child's learning style can make a difference in the educational process. This consultation comes with a 55-page resource guide written by Kay and full of information and educational strategies for each learning style, as well as curriculum suggestions for each learning style.

Learning Style Assessment with Consultation and Resource Guide - $65

From this analysis, we will recommend instructional objectives and strategies to use in the coming school year - where you need to strategically focus your teaching efforts. If you have a learning style assessment done on your child, we will also be able to make specific suggestions as to what teaching methods will benefit your child the most. Curriculum suggestions can also be given if desired. $40

CAT or IOWA Test Score Analysis

We will explain your CAT or IOWA scores to you and point out areas of strength and / or weakness based on the test results. $25

Class Descriptions

Learn about the eye and how vision works! A cow eye is very similar to the eye of a human. By dissecting and examining the anatomy of a preserved cow eye, you can learn how your own eye forms images of the world around you and sends these images to your brain. Each student will dissect an eye, conduct vision experiments, observe the magnification of the lens, and more!

Students will dissect a sheep, pig, and cow eye. They will compare and contrast the structures of each, as well as explore the possible adaptations that might explain the differences among them. Teaching about vision and eye structure will be integrated into this class as in the cow’s eye class.

This class will facilitate investigation of the physiological links between organ systems. While dissecting a sheep brain, pig heart, pig kidney, and cow eye, students will investigate the specific functions of each organ and they operate within the body. Students will view tissue samples from each organ. Adult-sized organs will be used in this class.

Your child will have the opportunity to dissect an extra large, preserved, double-injected frog. Double-injection allows you to visualize arterial and venous circulation. Along the way, we will discuss organs and organ function. We will provide everything needed for this class, as well as a lab hand-out with photographs.

Very similar to the frog class, but bullfrogs are much larger which translates into larger organs.

A fetal pig is a great choice for dissection because the size of the organs makes them easy to find and identify. It is also a very exciting dissection because a lot of the internal anatomy is similar to humans! See how all the organs work and fit together.

Students conduct a pig dissection by modeling the protocols used by a pathologist for a human autopsy. The term “autopsy” is derived from the Greek word autopsia, which means “to see for one’s self.” The 2 types of human autopsies are clinical (done to determine the cause of death as part of medical research or per family request) and forensic (done to determine the cause of death as part of a criminal investigation). In both types of autopsy, a forensic pathologist, sometimes referred to as a prosector, conducts the procedure to determine the cause of death. A morgue assistant, sometimes referred to as a diener, usually helps the prosector during the autopsy. A materials manager organizes and hands dissection instruments to the prosector and diener. A recorder records all of the measurements and observations made by the prosector and diener during the procedure. The recorder may also take digital photos of the procedure and include them in the final autopsy report.

During this class, students will assume the roles of forensic pathologists and support personnel as they examine their fetal pig specimens. Not only will students dissect a fetal pig, but they will also dissect the heart, lungs, stomach, small and large intestines, brain, and kidney. An adult pig heart and kidney will be dissected by the instructor. Upon completion of the autopsy, students place all organs and connective tissue back into the body cavity and suture the Y incision closed using a curved suture needle and thread—much as a forensic pathologist would close a human subject.

In this class students will:

An owl eats its prey whole and regurgitates a pellet that contains the bones of the victims! In this dissection you can classify all sorts of bones and sometimes reconstruct skeletons! We will provide a display mount for the bones and a detailed lab manual.

Students study the external anatomy of the rat and explore its major internal organs and organ systems. They will see first hand how life is carried inside this mammal’s body and will compare developmental stages of the babies extracted.

Our heart is an amazing machine. Learn the anatomy of the heart. See venous and arterial circulation.
